Project Spotlight: MONOS SoHo Flagship

The MONOS flagship in SoHo represents the brand’s most ambitious U.S. retail space to date. It’s an immersive, highly considered environment designed to reflect clarity, precision, and material integrity at every scale.

Designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois, the project brings a distinctly architectural sensibility to retail, where form, material, and construction logic are not just aesthetic choices, but the foundation of the experience itself. Leveratto AG served as Architect of Record, translating design intent into built reality through rigorous coordination, technical execution, and on-the-ground collaboration.

Material as Structure, Structure as Expression

At the heart of the space is brick and not as a surface treatment, but as a system. Its modular nature establishes a disciplined rhythm throughout the interior. Horizontal courses and vertical alignments are carefully orchestrated to create visual continuity and structural clarity.

Achieving this level of precision required an extraordinary degree of coordination. Brick dimensions, coursing, tolerances, and transitions were studied to ensure the alignment remained consistent across planes and conditions. What appears effortless in the finished space is the result of a deeply methodical process. Every intersection, edge, and transition was reviewed and refined to honor the original design vision.

For the LAG team, this meant close collaboration with consultants, fabricators, and contractors to figure out how the material system would perform in reality, not just in drawings. The success of the project lies in that discipline: allowing the material logic to remain legible and intentional.

Coordination at Full Scale

Key moments in the project demanded hands-on involvement and real-time decision-making. A pivotal steel coordination review brought together multiple trades to walk through connections, tolerances, and sequencing. This effort ensured that the structural framework would support the architectural intent without deviation.

These moments are where architecture becomes collective problem-solving. Leveratto AG’s role was to align teams, clarify intent, and verify that what was being built matched what was envisioned, down to the smallest detail. The result is a space where structure and finish feel seamlessly integrated, reinforcing the MONOS brand values of precision and restraint.

A Built Reflection of Brand Values

The completed flagship is both restrained and powerful. It doesn’t rely on spectacle; instead, it invites visitors to experience the clarity of form, the honesty of materials, and the confidence of execution. The architecture creates a calm but commanding backdrop for MONOS products. We’re proud that it elevates the retail experience without overpowering it.

For Leveratto AG, this project exemplifies our approach: deep technical rigor, close collaboration, and a commitment to protecting design intent through every phase of construction. It’s a reminder that great architecture is as much about process as it is about outcome, and that precision, when done right, speaks for itself.
